Welcome to Who Do You Serve!

I’ve been planning various versions of this site for years and years.

It’s probably a good thing I didn’t start writing it back then, because God has taught me so much in that time.

You can see the purpose for the site on the about page.

Basically the idea is to talk about what young people need to do to serve the Lord.

That includes right now, when, most of us, are single. And preparing for the future, when, most of us will be married.

I don’t feel at all qualified to write on these topics because I know everything or because of experience. Obviously with things like courtship and marriage, I have no experience at all.

The only reason I write is because I have the perfect, inspired and sufficient Word of God. I believe the Bible tells us how to live in every area of our lives.

And beyond having the Bible, practically all of my understanding is thanks to godly people who have taught me. Like favourite preachers (John MacArthur, Paul Washer, John Piper, and Voddie Baucham), favourite authors (Wayne Grudem) my parents and my pastor (Pastor Bill Preston at Calvary Baptist), as well as dozens of others who have influenced and blessed me.

Of course any wisdom I have is by the Holy Spirit. I pray He will keep my (and any others) to only writing the truth on here.

There probably won’t be many (if any) original thoughts on here. Just an attempt to encourage and discuss what we need to do.

I hope you’ll become part of the discussion through the comments. And let me know if you’d like to contribute a post.

  1. This is fantastic, Luke! Totally what I miss most about your forum was the discussions and posts on deeper subjects. Nice to have them back. 🙂

  2. Just because this site is for young people, does that count me out???? 🙁
Great that you are putting this together. We all have our challanges but I know that when I was younger yes way younger, it was a difficult time trying to do what Gods word said and having the strength to stand against the world and its deceptive ways.I didn’t come from a born again family but God got my attention despite that.
I would just love to encourage you all to keep your eyes on your wonderful Lord and saviour and not to settle for anything but HIS TRUTHS.
The consequences of faltering is not worth any sweet taste to our fleshly lusts and natures.
I am proud to know a lot of you young people and to call you friends. I know your journey’s are not easy living for the Lord and it takes a great deal of courage but the REWARDS are so great for each and every one of you. Have faith and don’t try and hurray God as He will open doors and lead you in His wonderful time.Don’t forget to trust in those beautiful parents all of you have and listen to their wisdom.!!
My prayers and support to each of you as you walk your journey for the amazing Lord God Almight. !!!!! xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

  3. Luke I love this! 🙂 This time in our lives (between courtship and marriage) is really difficult… I know I am struggling with what I would like to do with my time for the Lord, etc.
I am so glad that you have started this encouraging website, and I would be happy to contribute to anything- (even though I feel much to inadequate to do so… :-))

  4. Luke,
I’m so glad you finally got this up and going! Your right, this is one of the most difficult times in our lives and usually determines what kind of people we are going to be when we are older. I am looking forward to watching this ministry of yours grow and pray that the Lord will use this mightily and to His glory. I, like Sarah, would also be more then happy to contribute to this in anyway I can. Thanks again Luke!

  5. Luke, I am so excited about this! If there is anything I have wanted to teach my family it is “redeeming the time because the days are evil” We certainly need a site like this and we will help in any way we can. May the Lord use it to strengthen and encourage many young souls and do a mighty work in you. BTW…God has certainly equipped you and burdened you to serve Him this way so don’t feel unqualified. Depend upon Him and He will do the work thru you. To Him be all the Glory! So thrilled that our children have friends like you:)

  6. Thank you, friends. Your comments really encouraged me.

I’m excited to finally be doing this, and can’t wait to write more.
