And that He died for us.
“For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and Him crucified.” (1 Cor 2:2)
This is the central point of, well everything. When people talk about our ‘religion’ we often say it’s not a religion it’s a relationship. Because Christianity is not primarily about doing a list of rules. It’s primarily about knowing Jesus.
I don’t want to say vain repetitions when I pray… but I can never have a prayer time and not praise God for Christ’s death on the cross, and for His great redeeming work of salvation.
God is most glorified in the cross, and we are closest to our purpose, when we worship Him for it.
It won’t ever stop being about Jesus being slaughtered for us. For eternity we will praise Him for what He has done.
“Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing.” (Rev 5:12)
We are only who we are by the work of Jesus Christ. If we ever stopped remembering His death, we wouldn’t know who we were.
We will only ever be alive by the blood of Jesus. It will always be His righteousness imputed to us that makes us righteous. We will never be righteous in ourselves.
Stay focused on the cross.
